Scent profile of Saffron Dusk

• Top notes : Saffron, smoked wood – intense, spicy, mysterious
• Heart notes : Rose, oud – floral, dark, luxurious
• Base notes : Amber, benzoin, musk – warm, balsamic, addictive

 

This is pure, concentrated perfume oil and still needs to be diluted.
This can be done with perfumer’s alcohol, or alcohol-free with a carrier oil such as jojoba or fractionated coconut oil.

Example:
To make 50 ml of eau de toilette, use 2.5 to 5 ml of the fragrance concentrate and add 45 to 47.5 ml of perfumer’s alcohol or jojoba oil.

💡 Explanation : The higher the percentage of fragrance concentrate, the more intense and longer the scent lasts.
Perfume contains the most concentration and lasts the longest on the skin.
Aftershave and Eau Fraîche are the lightest and evaporate faster.

Amateur perfumers can also give Saffron Dusk a dupe by Ombre Nomade a personal touch, as it is mixable with other fragrances.

For example, you can:

1. Enhance top notes (spicy & smoky)

• Safraleine – synthetic saffron aroma, enhances the spicy character
• Guaiacol – smoky wood, enhances the mystical effect
• Black pepper essential oil – for a spicy, dry opening

2. Deepening heart notes (floral & oriental)

• Rose absolute – natural depth to the rose accord
• Oud base – enhances the dark, resinous heart
• Jasmine grandiflorum – adds a soft, sensual floral note

3. Enrich base (warm & addictive)

• Ambroxan – modern amber, powerful and diffuse
• Cashmeran – musky, woody, slightly spicy
• Vanillin or Ethyl vanillin – for a sweeter, smoother finish
• Labdanum resinoid – balsamic, leathery, enhances depth

 

Sample formula (50 ml Eau de Parfum)

• 5 ml Saffron Dusk dupe
• 0.3 ml Safraleine
• 0.2 ml Guaiacol
• 0.3 ml Ambroxan
• 0.2 ml Rose absolute
• Add 44 ml of perfumer’s alcohol or carrier oil

Allow the mixture to mature for at least 1–2 weeks for optimal fragrance development.

• Add leather accord for a bolder, niche look
• Use agarwood for a natural, deep oud note
• Combine with frankincense or myrrh for a sacred, meditative atmosphere
• Add a touch of raspberry or plum for a fruity twist in the old-fruit style
