Rouge Mirage (inspired by Baccarat Rouge 540)

This is pure, concentrated perfume oil and still needs to be diluted.
This can be done with perfumer’s alcohol, or alcohol-free with a carrier oil such as jojoba or fractionated coconut oil .

 

Example:
To make 50 ml of eau de toilette, use 2.5 to 5 ml of the fragrance concentrate and add 45 to 47.5 ml of perfumer’s alcohol or jojoba oil.

💡 Explanation : The higher the percentage of fragrance concentrate, the more intense and longer the scent lasts.
Perfume contains the most concentration and lasts the longest on the skin.
Aftershave and Eau Fraîche are the lightest and evaporate faster.

Rouge Mirage dupe (inspired by Baccarat Rouge 540) has an iconic ambery, crystalline and slightly sweet profile with notes of saffron, jasmine, ambergris, cedarwood and Norway spruce resin. As a hobby perfumer you can expand this fragrance to make it even deeper, lighter or more personal.

🧂 Saffron & transparency enhance

• Safraleine – synthetic saffron, leathery and spicy
• Hedione – jasmine-like, airy and diffuse
• Methyl anthranilate – grapey, enhances the floral aspect

🌲 Deepening amber & wood

• Ambroxan – modern ambergris, powerful and long lasting
• Cetalox – clean amber base note
• Iso E Super – velvety soft wood, enhances diffusion
• Cashmeran – musky, woody and slightly spicy

🍬 Add sweetness and depth

• Ethyl maltol – sweet, candy-like, enhances the gourmand note
• Vanillin – warm vanilla, seductive
• Fir balsam absolute – resinous, warm and complex

 

Sample recipe extension (for 50 ml Eau de Parfum)

If you use 7 ml of Rouge Mirage dupe, you can add:

• 0.5 ml Safraleine
• 0.3 ml Ambroxan
• 0.3 ml Hedione
• 0.2 ml Ethyl maltol
• 0.2 ml Iso E Super

Add 41.5 ml of perfumer’s alcohol.
Allow to mature for at least 2–4 weeks for optimal fragrance development.
