Scent : It has a sweet, floral and woody scent with a light powdery undertone.
Some people cannot consciously smell this odor (anosmic/nose blind), but usually they can when it is diluted or in combination with other fragrances. Galaxolide® has excellent fixing properties.

Galaxolide® is a polycyclic musk, used as a fragrance ingredient in perfumes, soaps, cosmetics and detergents. When pure it is a fairly thick liquid substance; when diluted it is easier to work with. A dilution can be made with benzyl benzoate (BB), dipropylene glycol (DPG), isopropyl myristate (IPM) or triethyl citrate (TEC), which can be found in the ‘vehicles’ section.
Galaxolide is a viscous substance, so it can be a bit tricky to process. That is why we also offer Galaxolide diluted (50% in IPM).
Did you purchase pure galaxolide?
Then we recommend heating the galaxolide.
Because Galaxolide is quite thick, it may help to warm it gently. This makes it easier to handle. For example, you can place it in a warm water bath (about 40°C) to make it more liquid. A bottle warmer can be useful for this, for example.
