The odor is clearly different from that of the isomeric lauric dodecanal Aldehyde c12

Firmenich’s Aldehyde MNA and Aldehyde C12 are not the same, although they are both aldehydes used in perfumery.

Aldehyde MNA (MethylNonylAcetaldehyde) is known for its powerful aldehydic, fresh, clean, ozonic and citrusy note with amber and incense undertones. It is used to freshen and brighten various types of fragrances.

Aldehyde C12 (Lauric Aldehyde or Dodecanal) has a characteristic aldehyde odor that is slightly oily and soapy, with some orangey notes. It is used in eaux fraiches, colognes, floral aldehydic and fresh notes for its strength and volume.

While both aldehydes contribute to the complexity and depth of fragrances, they each have their own unique olfactory profile and applications in perfumery.
