Champaca Orange is an opulent floral fragrance with fruity top notes, a velvety floral heart and a warm, spicy base – an oil that gives perfumes exotic depth and sensuality.

Fragrance profile – Champaca Orange

First impression (Top notes)

  • Fruity and sweet: apricot, peach, slightly citrusy
  • Floral: a sparkling opening reminiscent of jasmine and magnolia

Heart (Middle notes)

  • Velvety floral: intense, rich and sensual, with a warm, honeyed tone
  • Tea-like and spicy: subtle accents of black tea and spicy nuances that give depth
  • Creamy and soft: an almost lactonic character that rounds out the floral

Base (Drydown)

  • Warm and balsamic: soft woody undertones, slightly vanilla-like
  • Hay-like and tobacco-like: a dried, earthy nuance that anchors the perfume
  • Long-lasting: remains long-lasting and gives a luxurious, exotic signature

Summary of character

  • Overall: rich, exotic, sensual and complex
  • Comparison: deeper and heavier than white champaca(Michelia alba), with more fruity and spicy accents
  • Use in perfumery: ideal as a heart or base note in luxurious floral and oriental compositions; enhances blends with jasmine, rose, sandalwood, vanilla and agarwood

Champaca Orange vs. Champaca Alba

  • Champaca Orange Exotic, rich and sensual. With warm fruity and spicy undertones, this oil gives perfumes a deep, luxurious signature. Perfect for those who love intensity and lush floral scents.
  • Champaca Alba Light, fresh and jasmine-like. An elegant floral fragrance with green accents that gives perfumes an airy and romantic feel. Ideal for those looking for sophistication and clarity.

Briefly:

  • Orange = depth & sensuality
  • Alba = lightness & elegance

Technical note:

Daffodil is not a true essential oil because the flowers cannot be steam distilled.
This product is an organic extraction, similar to an absolute but thinly liquid and easy to handle.
Therefore, it stands for optimal findability in both Absolues & Extracts and Essential Oils.

After organic extraction, vacuum distillation is used to purify the extract and make it thinly liquid for easier processing.

* Footnote:

Vacuum distillation is a purification step that takes place after the organic extraction of a flower material such as Narcissus or Osmanthus.
After the fragrances are first extracted from the flowers with a mild solvent, the extract is gently heated under reduced pressure (vacuum).
Due to the lower pressure, unwanted components – such as solvent residues, waxy compounds or heavy byproducts – evaporate at a much lower temperature than normal.

This prevents scent damage and provides a cleaner, more stable and often thin liquid end product.

So vacuum distillation does not change the way the fragrance is extracted, but refines the extract so that it is easier to incorporate into perfumes.
