Labdanum Resinoid
It is obtained from the Cistus ladanifer shrubs, which grow mainly in the Mediterranean region.
The resin is extracted from the leaves and twigs via solution extraction, resulting in a thick, aromatic substance used in perfumery.
Labdanum resinoid has a rich, warm, ambery scent with sweet, woody, powdery and leathery nuances.
It is an essential ingredient in oriental and resinous fragrance compositions and is often used as a natural alternative to ambergris, which is banned in many countries, and a popular fixative in perfumes.
