Civettal / Tetra Hydro Para Methyl Quinoline is often used in microdosing for an artificial civet base.
Does well in somewhat heavier oriental perfume creations.
Civettal produces honey, tobacco and animal notes and also provides excellent fixation.
It is a synthetic aroma molecule that beautifully mimics the warm, animalistic sensuality of natural civet – but cleaner, rounder and much more controllable.It is a classic fixer that gives compositions depth, warmth and a subtle animalistic edge without becoming overpowering.
Application in perfumes
- Ideal in amber, orientals, musk compositions, leather, oud, floral and chypre
- Amplifies floral notes such as jasmine, tuberose and orange blossom
- Adds warmth and sensuality to modern unisex fragrances.

Dosage
Civettal is powerful but elegant. Usual: 0.1-2% in the total formula, depending on the desired effect.
